So which Uk provider is the best , which one offers the right blend of Cheaper Gas Bills with a high level of Customer service? Its a difficult choice as if you look at their individual web sites they all believe they do. They all say their prices are cheaper and they all say they have the best customer service in their industry.

Of course they cany all be right… Only one can have the cheapest gas bills. By nature of the word cheapest its saying that mine is cheaper than yours so its impossible for them all to claim the same thing , but they do. According to the latest Which? energy satisfaction survey, it’s bill clarity and cost that causes the most pain. They went on to say….

  • On average, Which? members are three times more likely to find gas and electricity bills difficult to understand than other bills received regularly.
  • About 25% of members surveyed said that they struggle to understand how much they owe their energy suppliers when looking at bills.
  • Some customers are much happier with their suppliers’ bill information than others but, when we asked the Plain English Campaign to look at a selection of bills, all had issues.
  • They were peppered with ‘gobbledygook and technical jargon’, including the use of a minus sign for a credit amount, red and green print making it difficult for people with visual impairments and failure to explain terms such as ‘calorific value’ and ‘kWh@p’ mean.
  • But it’s not just bills that annoy customers. Overall, the ‘big six’ energy suppliers received some of our worst customer satisfaction scores when compared with other industries. Just as in our 2008 survey, customer service and value for money are also pretty poor.

Their results, from surveys in May and June 2009, are based on 3,357 responses for gas suppliers, and 3,957 for electricity suppliers.  They looked at who had cheaper gas bills and who had the better service.

Utility companies reviewed

Npower was the worst-performing supplier with an overall score of 32%, and British Gas wasn’t far behind with 40%. Customers rated both suppliers as poor or very poor for billing, customer service, online and telephone support, ability to deal with queries, and value for money. No cheaper gas bills from these guys.

Utility Warehouse the only company in the survey not owned by the big six was the top-rated supplier, scoring 72% for customer satisfaction and rated as excellent for customer service, telephone support and value for money. This is our FIVE STAR RECCOMENDATION , choose Utility Warehouse , the nations top preforming provider. You will get both cheaper gas bills and the best customer service.

One in five of those surveyed said they’d experienced a problem with their supplier in the past 12 months. These included not receiving bills or getting bills with errors on, suppliers not coming to read their meter, and contacting or resolving queries with suppliers
